How to use this tool

  1. Choose a JPG or PNG image.
  2. Review whether an EXIF block was detected.
  3. Remove metadata and download the clean re-encoded copy.

Example

Phone photos may contain device, capture time and GPS fields. Re-encoding only visible pixels removes those embedded fields.

How it works

Remove EXIF, GPS, camera and date metadata by cleanly re-encoding an image in your browser. The browser decodes the source, processes its pixels with Canvas and creates a new downloadable file locally.

Frequently asked questions

Can you show every metadata field?

This lightweight version detects the EXIF block and removes metadata by re-encoding. It does not parse or display sensitive field values.

Does re-encoding change quality?

JPEG output uses high quality but may differ slightly from the source. PNG remains lossless.
